...*knock, knock, knock*...is anybody out there? Holy moly has it been forever since i've posted ANYTHING! I've been smokin' busy lately, jetting off to Mexico for a wedding, then house-sitting for friends with their XL, M, and SM puppies. I never thought i'd say this, but i miss my incredibly crappy bed. Soon, we will be together again! Anyways, it's been so long that i have quite the stock of awkward and awesomeness to share, so here we go. Here are some sneaky peekys from the Mexican wedding for your viewing pleasure...
Awkward:
1. Arriving in Mexico to find out that you are not on the list to take the bus to the resort, therefore, you have to stand to the side and wait until the 30 other people are checked off before the very sweaty Mexican bus driver can tend to you. And by the end, you are equally as sweaty as the bus driver and beyond mortified, as everyone on the bus is now watching you try and convince this bus driver, in very broken spanish, that you are supposed to be on this bus.
2. Same thing happening to go home, only this time the Hubs is very angry and yelling at the man who doesn't understand him, and the entire bus is watching and waiting on you, again!
3. Meeting the Bride and Groom's families and doing the should we shake or hug dance, like, 7 times in a row.
4. It being so hot and the Bride's dress fitting her so perfectly, that i had to tuck her butt into it to get the zipper up. Good thing we were good friends to start, otherwise, we most certainly would be now!
5. Trying to make yourself look pretty while sweating profusely. Telling you right now, it doesn't work.
6. Ordering a meal at the resort, barely eating it because i'm not overly sure what it is i ordered, and the waiter asking how everything was, i reply,"GREAT!", he looks at the barely touched plate, raises his eyebrows and walks away. Sorry Senior, it was mucho grosso!
7. Thinking that adding an O to the end of any english word makes it spanish, and then actually trying to carry on a conversation with a Mexican person in this fashion. Oh how the Hubs is entertaining in Mexico!
8. Trying to shop in Mexico in a huge group. Good thought, non-good experience. Especially when its so hot! Its like trying to shop with someone that has the opposite shopping style as you, but in an oven, and with 10 of them.
9. Having the Mexican man fit you for a zip line harness very quickly and with very little boundary control. Yup, possibly got felt up in Mexico, but for safety purposes, so i let it slide!
10. Walking around with a harness and a helmet on in 40 degree Celsius weather, it makes you feel oh so pretty [insert extreme sarcasm here]!
Awesome:
1. Being able to take the Hubs to mexico with me at the last minute...second honeymoon, here we come!
2. Being able to go to Mexico twice in six months, YA WE DID!
3. Having a better tan than most people at home, including the Hubs. I say most, as we do live in the "Sunny Okanagan" and there are always those people that tan just because they're sitting by a window, *ahem* Ryan.
4. The Bride and Groom. Thanks so much Mr. and Mrs. Laface, we had THE MOST wonderful time.
5. Mexican time. Generally 10-20 minutes slower than Canadian time.
6. That the Hubs dances in Mexico, like, every night!I LOVE when he dances, it makes going to the "watering hole" so much more fun.
7. Not having to cook for 8 whole days.
8. Finishing 3 books. LOVE finishing books, it makes me feel like i've accomplished something great!
9. Being able to still watch the hockey games while in a tropical country. GO NUCKS GO!
10. Being able to experience so many great things with the Hubs in Mexico, some new, some that we loved so much we got to do again.
...stay tuned for more visual wonders from this wonderful trip.
